About Us
We have had a life long love affair with candles. We burn candles daily, we have gone to endless numbers of craft shows to find different and unique scents, tried all "57 Varieties" of candles and waxes, attended candle making classes and have sold candles through a distributorship opportunity. Finally we got to our truth: "Let's make what we love".
We are committed to the small batch process of making candles. This involves one or both of us melting the wax, mixing the scents, wicking the candles and hand pouring each individual candle.
While some people love waking up to the wonderful aroma of fresh brewed coffee, we love waking up to the amazing scents of our freshly poured candles!
We are a newly formed business partnership, located in Northern New Jersey. Rob Russo, retired IT Project Manager and Donna Ellwood, business manager of a small private independent school, have joined forces to create Rich and Poured Candles, LLC. (stands for Lifelong Love of Candles).
We are excited about introducing our all natural hand poured perfectly scented soy candles to all of you. We welcome you to our site and invite you to give us your comments and feedback about our products.
About Notes
Top Notes - This is the initial impression the fragrance oil makes when you first smell a candle or remove the lid. It is the most volatile, meaning it will evaporate the quickest.
Middle Notes - The middle note is the “heart” of the fragrance. It can take 10 to 20 minutes for the middle notes to fully develop. When you are burning a candle, the middle notes are the most prominent.
Base Notes - The base notes are what give a candle lasting qualities. It is the scent that lingers even after the candle is extinguished.
We at Rich & Poured Candles have taken poetic license and are using the term “notes” in both the classical musical context and to define a category of scents:
Cool Notes: Fresh, fruity & airy scents
Warm Notes: Rich vanillas and earthy, spicy and woody scents
Soothing Notes: Tranquil, calming and relaxing scents
